Cape Grace has launched a brand-new brunch offering at their flagship restaurant, Signal.

The new brunch combines the very best of breakfast and lunch; a groaning buffet laden with treats, freshly shucked oysters on ice and a hearty main course. All of these combined with some of the finest Table Mountain views in the city make brunch at Cape Grace an extra delectable affair.

Brunch is served from 11:30 each Sunday, leaving plenty of time to enjoy a morning hike, dip in the ocean (for the particularly brave) or a lazy lie in.

Distinct from the Cape Grace breakfast offering, brunch has a more savoury slant. The harvest table features some of the best local charcuterie, salmon blinis and moreish little pastries. Silvery oysters fresh from the West Coast are served with a squeeze of lemon and a dash of Tabasco and are perfectly paired with a complimentary mimosa, made with freshly squeezed orange juice and the Cape’s finest MCC.

The firm favourites that have made the Cape Grace breakfast so iconic will also be there; chief amongst them being the home-made granola, fruit platters, and selection of still-warm breads, served with a host of jams, pates and local cheeses. New for brunch includes a selection of hummus and a range of salads. An ever changing weekly selection of salads showcases the freshest seasonal produce and sits alongside classics like an indulgent Caesar and a crunchy Waldorf.

For the main courses, Cape Grace chef Ryan Shell explains how he wanted to cater to both breakfast and lunch lovers. ‘’Our main courses will change each week but will always include a breakfast option like a classic eggs benedict or flapjacks, then for people that fancy a more traditional lunch there will be other hearty options. Brunch offers an opportunity to bring together the very best of what we do in the Signal kitchen and I am really excited about this new offering’’.

Marlvin Gwese, the Signal sommelier, will be on hand to pair the perfect wine with Sunday brunch. The Cape Grace wine menu features over 100 local wines. Beers, coffees and of course the iconic brunch cocktail, the Bloody Mary are available. The welcome drink, juices from the buffet and a hot drink are all included in the price.

To end off there is a selection of treats by the in-house pastry team including home-made macaroons and chocolate tonka tarts to mention just a few.

Brunch is charged at R375 per person, R180 for children (6 – 12 years). Little ones under six can enjoy a meal at R80 per child.
